THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS PERTAIN TO THE SERVICES WE WILL PROVIDE TO YOU. WE WOULD RECOMMEND THAT YOU READ THESE TERMS CAREFULLY BEFORE YOU SUBMIT YOUR ORDER WITH US. THEY EXPLAIN HOW WE WILL PROVIDE THE SERVICE TO YOU INCLUDING HOW WE WILL PROCEED IN CASE AN ISSUE ARISES.
In order for us to keep prices competitive we require that all services we provide are paid for upon submission of your order in store. With the exception of orders that require a more detailed quote where we will notify the customer and request payment before proceeding.
For home collection orders they will need to be paid prior to delivery. We accept all debit/credit cards and payments can be done via telephone or BACS. We do not accept cheques.
You acknowledge that we use wet cleaning technology a non toxic garment cleaning method that is an environmentally safe alternative to traditional dry cleaning. It utilises computer-controlled washing machines and biodegradable soaps and conditioners combined with special moisture sensitive dryers.
On occasions where we believe that other cleaning methods may be more appropriate, we reserve the right to use a different cleaning method which could be other than wet cleaning. Such methods could include decamethylcyclopentasiloxane (liquid silicone), dibutoxymethane (SolvonK4), perchloroethylene, hydrocarbons, or any other method that would provide the best outcome in that particular instance. Whilst we endeavour to keep these occurrences to a minimum, each method has its benefits and we feel that we have to be pragmatic to ascertain that the best care is given to your items at all times.
We will make every effort to remove any stains without damaging your item but it should be noted however, that we do not ensure the removal of any stain. In any case, the cleaning charge will apply regardless of whether the stain has been successfully removed.
We will re-clean and/or re-press your item free of charge if we are notified within 24hrs upon delivery or at time of collection from our shop. The item must be unworn, returned in the original packaging including any tags we have attached to it. If we suspect that the item has been worn, we reserve the right to refuse to re-clean and re-press the item.
If an item is re-cleaned due the fact that a stain has not been removed in the first clean, the re-clean will be done “at owners risk” as we will have to use a stronger stain removal method to attempt to remove the stain, which could result in discolouration. In any case, we cannot guarantee that the stain will be removed.
It is our customers responsibility to ensure that all items that are given for cleaning have the appropriate care labels. We do not accept responsibility for items that have care labels removed, missing or illegible and you accept that such an items are cleaned “at owners risk” (together with all items listed at “AT OWNERS RISK”)
We work professionally to ensure the very best processes and procedures are employed to bring you a level of service second to none. However, as with all cleaners, there are certain situations and garment features that we must disclaim against. To that end, by using our service, you accept the following exclusions of liability:
In cases you wish to complain about an item, this must be returned unworn or unused with the original packaging (including garment tag) that the item was collected/delivered: failure to do so will invalidate any potential complaint.
We aim to collect/deliver your items within the agreed time slot. We will not be liable for any delay.
We offer a collection/delivery service in selected postcodes. Free collection and delivery applies on all orders with a minimum value of £50 (Fifty Pounds) otherwise a £7.95 charge will be added onto the order.
In the event that you won’t be available during our agreed scheduled time slot for the collection or delivery, please inform us as soon as possible. We will arrange another mutually convenient time for delivery/collection. In the event that you miss a second agreed scheduled time slot we may charge an additional delivery/collection fee in lieu of our costs.
When you receive your items, we kindly ask you to check your items upon delivery and to report any missing items immediately to the delivery driver. Any damage needs to be reported to us in writing within 24hrs, failure to do this will invalidate any potential claim.
We won’t be responsible for any damaged or missing items reported 24hrs (twenty four) hours after delivery of your items.
We may transfer our rights and obligations under these terms to another organisation. We reserve the right to apply our best judgement and to transfer this agreement so that items can be cleaned using a different cleaning method or service provider.
Our liability to any damaged/lost items shall not exceed ten (10) times our charge for cleaning the garment regardless of brand or condition. We will investigate any complaint promptly and pay fair compensation for damage or loss due to our negligence. In the event of damage if we determine we are responsible then we will offer a service credit or a cash compensation agreed by both parties.
If it is unclear who is responsible for the damage then we will arrange for an independent analysis by a fabric care research laboratory (www.dtc-ltd.com). The fees of the analysis will be split by both parties and based on the result the fee will be paid in full by one of the party’s based on the results.

For the protection of all involved and to ensure full accountability Herman’s uses a Full CCTV system to record garments going through our counter and we maintain these files for up to two weeks. To that end, any claim made against us after two weeks from the date of the submission of the order will not be accepted, but unlike the rest of the garment care industry, we will acknowledge any claims made against us within the initial two weeks period.
We will only use the personal information you provide to us to provide our services, to inform you about similar services and products we offer and to send text alerts about your order and to contact you with regards to your orders if needed.
Customers are politely informed that after a period of 3 months, any uncollected items will be disposed of with no further liability.
Herman’s reserved the right to refuse our service to any customer.
All offers, whether displayed on the website, advertisements, leaflets or any other means, are subject to change at anytime.
These terms and conditions do not affect your statutory rights as a consumer.
